Update on Faith & Makaila 21
We are happy to report that both girls are doing well. Although Faith had a rough week (she had a relapse with her cold), she seems much stronger now. Just yesterday Makaila's NG tube (a.k.a feeding tube) was removed. She's been eagerly taking a bottle ever since (YEAH!!!) This is a huge step towards coming home. She's managing to feed herself entirely on her own, and she's not getting too tired!!! While she's currently still hooked up to all of the monitors, we know that this will be changing soon. Apparently, as parents, we need to get used to seeing our daughters on their own (free from all computer monitoring that tell us how their heart rate and oxygen levels are doing). As soon as we get used to this (which won't take too long)...we'll be bringing her home! Praise the Lord!

Let us know if there's anything you're still looking for to get the house ready. I know you had mentioned needing another crib, we have one if you want to borrow it, just give me a call (604-279-0356) and let me know what you need. It's so exciting to hear that they'll be home soon. We'll have to plan a visit when you guys get all settled. I know Ruth and Grace would love to see their new cousins, as would Jeremy and I.

I know I've not commeted much but I check for up-dates regularly. It was so wonderful to see the pictures of the girls together and of you holding them, it almost made me cry! (It was good to see how big Isaiah is getting too!!!) I'm so glad they are doing so well - I think of you often and pray that the girls will soon be at home with you... since I'm due in 2 1/2 weeks though, maybe I'll check for you at the hospital!!!

We rejoice with you! You have had quite the journey so far being parents of twins. We are excited for when you get to have them at home -- the adventure continues, but hopefully this next chapter of your lives will be filled with more "normal" stresses and joys of parenting multiples. Our twins are now 9 months old and what an incredible, rich, exhausting, delightful, frustrating and growing time it has been. We pray and trust that God will give you exactly what you need for the road ahead.

I almost forgot another little tip: Keep your preemie soothers from the nursery! Lucas still won't take any other soother, and we have to keep going back for new ones because you can't buy them anywhere!
